Kim Kardashian Pulled Over by Cops While Driving Her Rolls Royce

Kim Kardashian's new Rolls Royce has got her into minor trouble with the law. The reality show star was pulled over by police who spotted that the $300,000 custom black car did not have a license plate.

The California Highway Patrol saw Kardashian driving down the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles and stopped her because the plate was missing. Kardashian apparently kept the plates in her glove compartment and got away without being ticketed. She has had the luxurious car for a couple of weeks now.

More to the story, it was reported that Kardashian was being followed on the road by paparazzi at that time. But unlike Justin Bieber who sped off in his $100,000 hybrid Fisker Karma when he saw the shutterbugs, Kardashian took it easy on the speed.

Katrina Kaif sacrifices family time for ‘Ek Tha Tiger’

It seems Katrina Kaif doesn’t like to compromise when it comes to her professional life. The actress cut short her family vacation to be at the launch of the first song of her upcoming film “Ek Tha Tiger”.
The actress was shooting in London for her new film with Shah Rukh Khan, which is being directed by Yash Chopra. After the film’s schedule wrapped up, she decided to stay back to spend time with her family.
“The location was quite far from where she lives and since she didn’t want to disrupt the shooting schedule, she was living in the hotel the crew had put her up in. Only once the schedule had wrapped up, she decided to spend some time with family,” said a source.
However, she cut it short and flew back to Mumbai to be with her “Ek Tha Tiger” team, including lead actor Salman Khan, for “Mashallah” song launch.
“It was quite sweet of Katrina to be so accommodating. Mashallah is picturised on Katrina and Salman and also created a lot of wave,” said source added.
The film releases Aug 15.

‘Cocktail’ clicks with youngsters, gets about 90 percent opening

Homi Adajania’s “Cocktail”, about mixed-up relationship between three main characters, has appealed to the movie buffs.
The urban romantic drama has got about 90 percent opening on the first day. The numbers are likely to go up during weekend and it will be a profitable venture for actor-producer Saif Ali Khan, distributors say.
Gautam Dutta, COO, PVR, says that the film starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty has opened well and will do better during weekend.
“The film has opened phenomenally well. Friday being a half working, it has done very well with almost 80 percent opening. On Saturday and Sunday it is expected to do houseful.”
“The film has been promoted as a young film, so there are more and more young people coming in, but because it has got a U/A certificate, families are also expected to come on weekends. We are expecting lots of college students on Monday and later in the week,” Dutta told IANS.
Trendsetting fashion statements and chartbusters like “Tum hi ho bandhu” and “Daaru desi” created a great buzz among youngsters before the film’s release.
Delhi-based distributor Joginder Mahajan said, “The film has got almost 90 percent opening in multiplexes. It is appreciated by audience and is expected to get a good response on the weekend.”
Made at a budget of approximately Rs.30 crore, the film has been co-produced by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan under Illuminati Films.
The story is centred around Gautam (Saif), an incorrigible flirt, traditional Indian girl Meera (Diana) and Veronica (Deepika), a party animal. Audiences in two-tier cities have also given it a thumbs up.
Confirming this, Indore-based distributor T.N. Kapoor says the response is much better in multiplexes than single screens.
” ‘Cocktail’ has got a good response in Indore. The response in multiplexes in much better than single screens. The target audience of this film is youth. The response is likely to improve over the weekend. It will work well at the box office. The presentation and the content of the film is nice. It wouldn’t be a loss making project for Saif Ali Khan,” he said.
“Since the film is for youth, family audience may just not go and watch it. They would still prefer ‘Bol Bachchan’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’ that are performing terrifically at the box-office,” Kapoor told IANS.
Jaspal Dhingra of Nanaksar Enterprises in East Punjab says there is a craze among youth about the movie. “The opening has been tremendous. It is targeted to youth. The cast is good, songs are already a hit and the movie has been marketed very well. There is a craze among the youth about the film and they have contributed to its opening.”
“The film is doing good business in north India. Faridabad, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, and Ludhiana have got a great opening. It will do good business next week too because there is no big movie coming up,” Dhingra told IANS.

Justin Bieber Sued by a Fan's Mom for Damaging Her Ear

Justin Bieber is responsible for her hearing loss, so claims a mother of his fan. Stacey Wilson Betts says she damaged her ear when taking her daughter to his concert in Portland, Oregon on July 14, 2010 due to the deafening noise of his fans' scream and of a "sound blast" that "exceeded safe decibel levels."

The teen star is alleged to have "created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena" as he "climbed into a heart shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd." He "then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick."

In addition to blaming the Canadian pop singer for her pain, the plaintiff says concert promoters and sound engineers who are "responsible to maintain safe decibels at all times during their events" should be held responsibly for the "loss of quality of life and permanent disability and impairment to both of my ears."

Naming Island Def Jam Records, the concert promoter and the arena as the other defendants, Betts is seeking $9.23 million in damages. She reportedly suffers in both of her ears severe tinnitus, which is a ringing in ear, and hyperacusis, which is an oversensitivity to sound. She also complains of other noise-induced hearing loss.

Bieber's camp has issued any statement regarding the lawsuit.

Confirmed, Henry Cavill Will Be on Hand to Promote 'Man of Steel' at Comic-Con

Superman is heading to Comic-Con this Saturday, July 14. It has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter that Henry Cavill will be on hand to promote "Man of Steel" during a Warner Bros. Pictures panel in Hall H on the weekend.

Though it's been announced since June that "Man of Steel" will hold a presentation at Comic-Con, it was unclear whether or not the film's leading actor would make an appearance. THR now has the words that the British actor will show up, but unfortunately he won't be joined by co-stars Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe.

Last Wednesday, Warners also announced that director Zack Snyder would attend the session and footage of the Superman movie would be screened for the audience. Warners' panel itself is scheduled to take place at 2:30-5:00 in the afternoon.

Aside from the DC film, the studio will throw presentations for Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim" and Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". Speaking of "The Hobbit", Jackson recently opened up that he would show a conventional 24fps reel at Comic-Con instead of presenting another 48fps footage just like at CinemaCon.

"I decided to screen the 'Hobbit' reel at Comic-Con in 2D and 24 frames per second, so the focus stays firmly with the content and not the technical stuff," he told Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex. "If people want 3D and 48fps, that choice will be there for them in December."

Warner Bros. will release "Man of Steel" on June 14, 2013, "Pacific Rim" on July 12 next year, and "The Hobbit" on December 14 this year.

Miley Cyrus Debuts New Tattoo of President Roosevelt Quote

Miley Cyrus got a new body art, a quote from former President Theodore Roosevelt, and she proudly showed it off when stepping out of her pilates class in West Hollywood. She flaunted the tattoo in a sleeveless black-and-white striped loose top that bared her midriff.

The tattoo etched on the teen songstress' left forearm read, "So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." The quote was taken from the President's speech he made at the Sorbonne, Paris, on April 23, 1910.

19-year-old Miley has a collection of tattoos in her body. They include "love" on her ear in honor of a close friend who died of cystic fibrosis, and a small equal sign on the inside of her right ring finger to show her support of same sex marriage.

"It really doesn't hurt if you're thinking about the meaning," the newly engaged star once said. "I could never get a meaningless tattoo, but I think that if you're doing something that's important, that's significant in your life, it takes some of the pain away."

Starz Develops New Shows About Vampire and Alien

Starz has announced two new projects in development. The network has tapped J. Michael Straczynski, who is best known for his works in "Thor", "Underworld: Awakening" and "Changeling", as well as "Spartacus" creator Steven S. DeKnight to write original series about vampire and alien respectively.

Straczynski teams up with Roy Lee ("The Ring", "The Woman in Black") in developing "Vlad Dracula". It is described as "a unique spin of the classic tale, blending the historical facts of the 15th century Prince of Wallachia, with the fictional Dracula whose story is known around the world and continues to fascinate audiences."

According to the cable channel, the show will trace "his evolution from a revered ruler to the world's most feared vampire, and his slow downfall as he struggles desperately to hang on to his humanity, his wife and his kingdom."

DeKnight, under his overall deal with Starz, is developing "Incursion". The epic sci-fi, action-thriller "follows a squad of soldiers caught in a war against a hostile alien race. Grittily realistic combat, darkly complex characters and intrigue on a cosmic scale will permeate the tale of fighting men and women facing the pressures of war and an enemy unlike any ever seen."

Should it see the light of the day and get more than one season, it promises to present something fresh in its each chapter by bringing the battle "on a new, exotic planet as humanity punches deeper into enemy territory."

Saif still perfect for love stories: Deepika Padukone

After working in movies like “Love Aaj Kal” and “Aarakshan”, actress Deepika Padukone has once again teamed with Saif Ali Khan in “Cocktail”. She feels the 41-year-old is one actor who fits romantic roles perfectly even after so many years in the film industry.
“In spite of him (Saif Ali Khan) having worked so much, he is still someone who fits these young love stories and romantic characters,” Deepika, 26, told IANS.
“Cockatil”, directed by Homi Adajania, revolves around the lives of three friends – Veronica, Gautam and Meera, played by Deepika, Saif and newcomer Diana Penty, respectively.
Deepika, who will be seen as a confident and fun-loving girl in the film, says the character was challenging and she needed inner confidence to play it.
“I remember I was in Mauritius two years ago when I got the script. I felt that I was ready to play Veronica. I knew I needed inner confidence to be able to pull it off because the character could go wrong in many ways,” she said.
Explaining the background of her character, she said: “Veronica is feisty, but not a rebel. She has grown up in a broken family, so she has not got the conventional love of parents while growing up. So she likes to be surrounded by people probably to get her mind off other things.”
“Cocktail” is releasing Friday.

Lamba said: “I don’t see there is any risk. As somebody who has invested in the future of fashion, it is my responsibility to give them a voice…The concept of bringing fresh perspective to the finale was very exciting. So we were very thrilled to get them on board and they both have very individual takes on fashion.

Warner Bros. to Announce Next DC Films Soon, May Release 'Justice League' in 2015

Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment apparently have already prepared a number of new movies after "The Dark Knight Rises". Warners' film group President Jeff Robinov revealed that the studio will announce its upcoming comic book movies real soon.

"My hope is that over the next month or so, we'll be ready to lay out the plan for the next DC movies," Robinov told Los Angeles Times. The upcoming announcement will likely involve confirmation on whether or not Warners/DC will make the big screen take on Aquaman, Flash and Wonder Woman.

Before moving on to further projects, the studio is already developing "Man of Steel" and "Justice League". While the Superman movie is slated for a June 14, 2013 release in the U.S., the superhero ensemble film still hasn't got its release date. Though so, L.A. Times stated that the long-awaited film might be released nationwide sometime in 2015.

Speaking about "Justice League", Robinov weighed in on Christopher Nolan's recent statement that he wouldn't be involved in the forthcoming ensemble movie. Robinov admitted that Warners actually hoped that Nolan would agree to helm the long-gestating project. "It was a conversation we had," the President said. "Obviously anything you can get Chris involved in is great."

Previously, Nolan had said "No" to the chance to direct "Justice League". He claimed, "No, none at all. We're finished with all we're doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character," before adding, "I've got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project."

Warners has been developing "Justice League" for several years. At first, the studio chose George Miller as the director with Kieran and Michele Mulroney penning the script. The initial plan was to tap Adam Brody as the Flash, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, and then-newcomer Armie Hammer as Batman.

Kristen Wiig Happier Than Ever With Her Rocker Boyfriend

Kristen Wiig says she's quite content with her life now. In a cover story for Marie Claire's August Issue, the 38-year-old actress cites her relationship with Fabrizio Moretti, who plays drums in indie rock band The Strokes, as one of her reasons to be happy.

"I will say that I'm happier than I've ever been," Wiig gushes. "And I feel very lucky right now." The "Bridesmaids" star, who left her post as a "Saturday Night Live" regular earlier this year, explains, "Where I am now. Who he is. Those are the two big ones."

Responding to questions as to why she left "SNL", she says, "I know a lot of people probably assume, 'Oh, she's leaving because she is going to be doing movies now and things like that,' which I will be, but I just always knew it was going to be seven [years] and that was it."

The comedienne joined the longrunning variety show in 2005. She survived the budget cut and became a full member a year later. "I think maybe if I were 22, I could see myself staying a little bit, but it just felt like the right time," she reasons.

Wiig made her final appearance as an "SNL" regular in an "emotional" episode airing on May 19. It was hosted by Mick Jagger and featured Amy Poehler, Chris Kattan, Chris Parnell, Will Forte and Steve Martin. "I just wanted to get through it without breaking down in every sketch," she says.

"It was a very surreal moment," she continues. "You have all this stuff going on in your head, like, 'I can't believe seven years has gone by, and I'm going to miss all these people.' And I'm like, 'Oh, by the way, Mick Jagger is to my right, and I just danced a waltz with him.' So there's that."

The officers took his statement on the L.A. set and Bieber told them what happened blow by blow including the pap's license plate number. Interestingly, the pap in question was on the music video shoot taking snaps. Police took his statement as well and are investigating the entire situation.

Angelina Jolie's Engagement Ring Makes Its Debut in Bosnia

Angelina Jolie showed off her engagement ring from longtime partner Brad Pitt for the first time on Saturday, July 7 when she attended Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia. The 37-year-old actress wore the 4 carat sparkler and waved her hand to the crowd.

Jolie was at the festival to receive the Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo from Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Fikret Music, for her contributions to the country. She directed her first film "In the Land of Blood and Honey", a love story set during Bosnian War.

"The time I spent and the people I met in Bosnia have changed me forever," she said. "I can't tell you how much it means to me to be named an honorary citizen of Sarajevo, a city so dear to my heart." Talking about the movie, she said, "It was the hardest thing I have ever done because of my deep respect for the people that really experienced it. The experience here was so unique for me that I felt very connected to the people."

The diamond ring reportedly cost $500,000 and was co-designed by Pitt and jeweler Robert Procop. The engagement was not confirmed until April when a photographer snapped a picture of the ring when she attended a private viewing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's Chinese Galleries. Jolie has not made any public attendance since.

'The Amazing Spider-Man' Opens Strong as Box Office Champion

As predicted by most observers, "The Amazing Spider-Man" successfully opens as the new champion on North American box office. The superhero movie, which was released last Tuesday, July 3, collects an estimated $65 million on its debut weekend and a solid $140 million on its first six days.

Still, the Andrew Garfield-starring movie opens softer than the six-day result of Sam Raimi's three Spidey movies. "Spider-Man" took in $144.1 million in 2002, "Spider-Man 2" grabbed $180.1 million in 2004, while "Spider-Man 3" collected $176.2 million in 2007.

Last week's chart-topper "Ted" drops to the second spot with around $32.5 million this weekend. The Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane-starring raunchy comedy earns a total domestic cume of $120.2 after two weeks of playing in the U.S. cinemas. "Brave", meanwhile, secures the third place by adding approximately $20.1 million for a total domestic cume of $174.5 million on its third weekend.

Landing on the fourth place is Oliver Stone's violent thriller "Savages" with an estimated $16.1 million on its first weekend. The result is quite satisfying since Universal Pictures expected the R-rated film to gross around $10 million on its opening weekend. The film also marks Taylor Kitsch's relatively most successful debut this year compared to "John Carter" and "Battleship".

Rounding up the top five is "Magic Mike", which adds $15.6 million for a total cume of $72,7 after two weeks of playing nationwide. On the other hand, Katy Perry's concert documentary movie "Katy Perry: Part of Me" has a weak opening as it places eighth with around $7.1 million. The 3D film can't beat "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" which opened to $29.5 million on its first weekend in 2011.

Top Ten Movies at Box Office for July 6- 8:
  1. "The Amazing Spider-Man" - $65 million

Scarlett Johansson May Be Highest Paid Actress After 'The Avengers 2'

Scarlett Johansson is set to take the title of highest paid female actor of all time as she has been offered 13 million pound to take the role of Black Widow once again. The British media are reporting that producers want the 27-year-old to reprise Agent Natasha Romanoff in "The Avengers 2".

"Scarlett is the hottest star in Hollywood and her inclusion in the sequel is a must," a source told The Sun. "Producers think that as the only lead woman in the film male fans have found her a key ingredient - both for sex and story appeal. She is loved by critics too."

Money may not be a problem for the producers because the first movie raked in 936 million pounds in the worldwide box office. The other "Avengers" stars, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, reportedly will also see a 50 percent pay rise in the sequel.

Johansson will replace Angelina Jolie as highest paid actress if she indeed gets such paycheck. Jolie took 12.2 million pounds when starring in 2010's "The Tourist".
